COUNCIL FOR ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE BURSARY


This bursary was created in 2010 as a way to support our members in their educational endeavours related to the field of English as an Additional Language. Recipients will share their learning to members of CEAL through an article for Accent and, if possible, a PD offering. This bursary covers up to $2000 towards course work or professional learning opportunities that focus on the area of English as an Additional Language. A maximum of 3 bursaries will be available each year. 


CRITERIA
·       Must be a current CEAL member and must have been a member for at least one year prior to application
·       Attending a post-secondary course, workshop or conference related to the field of English as an Additional Language
·       Submit grant application form prior to course/workshop/conference start date
·       Must write one or more articles for publication in ACCENT pertaining to the course/professional learning

PROCESS
·       Applications are due by December 31, 2026. Bursary applications are reviewed and a maximum of three applicants will be selected at random using an online random number generator tool.
·       The awarded bursary money is issued upon receipt of ACCENT article(s)
·       Itemized receipts for tuition, conference fee, etc. must be submitted in order for reimbursement
·       Complete the online application form 


 CONDITIONS
·       Successful applicants will be ineligible to apply for 3 years from date of grant approval
·       CEAL Executive members are not eligible to apply
